VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Three reservists from the 932nd Aerospace Medicine Squadron joined Team Vance July 14 to complete their annual tour requirement.

Every year, the 932nd AMDS, from, Scott AFB, Illinois, travels to another base to train with a new medical group for two weeks, said Capt. Joshua Hernandez, from the 932nd AMDS.

This year, the Airmen decided to team up with the 71st Medical Group here.

“This training has made us better Airmen and medical professionals,” said Staff Sgt. Michael Teague, a 932nd AMDS aerospace medicine technician. “We’re getting to work every day with active duty members and getting hands-on training with things we don’t normally get the chance to do.”

For example, the NCOs practiced giving vaccinations and Staff Sgt. Brandon Issler, a 932nd AMDS dental technician, practiced dental X-ray techniques.

“I’ve learned some processes here that I can take with me to help improve our workflow back home,” said Issler.

“It’s been a very positive experience,” said Teague. “Everyone here has been really welcoming.”

The team left Vance July 28.
