Airfield burn scheduled Feb. 8-9

VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- There will be a prescribed burn on sections of Vance’s airfield Feb. 8 and 9, 2020. The burn is scheduled to start at approximately 7 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, and continue throughout the day with the potential to cross into Sunday.

Prescribed burns are conducted to reduce the likelihood of aircraft bird strikes, and are considered integral to flight safety.
