The Vance Angel Tree at The Exchange was set up and decorated by the Vance First Sergeants this week.

The tree holds angels, each one with a child's age, gender, shoe and clothing sizes, and general interests. Each angel represents a child at Vance who may not receive a gift this Christmas.

Commanders, first sergeants and supervisors identify members within their units who have unique situations and place an angel on the tree for their children.

Shoppers at The Exchange can then take an angel off the tree, and anonymously purchase gifts for the child in need.

The gifts are then dropped off in the donation box next to the Angel Tree. The box is checked daily, and once a request is filled, the first sergeants gather the gifts and distribute them in a way that does not draw attention to the Airman or their family.
