Vance AFB's storage tank reduces energy costs
Vance AFB is continuing to find new ways of conserving energy. One simple example is the 610,000 gallon insulated storage tank on base. Water is chilled at night to 35 degrees Fahrenheit and then distributed to several surrounding buildings. This provides a less-expensive cooling method than conventional air cooling systems.
