Vance air traffic controller dies in home

VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Airman 1st Class Christian M. Van Wagner died in his home July 1, 2019.

“Our hearts are broken today, as we reach out to Christian’s family, friends and co-workers,” said 71st Flying Training Wing Commander Col. Corey Simmons. “Christian was a fantastic Airman just beginning his Air Force life. We couldn’t be more devastated.”

Van Wagner was an air traffic controller at Vance and had been stationed at the base for two years.

A memorial service will be held at the base in the near future.
