We hear you – Teen Center responds to survey concerns Published June 5, 2013 By Nicole Painter Vance Teen Center VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- (The following are responses to concerns Team Vance members raised when responding to the 2013 "Caring for People" survey conducted in March.) Concern: Can the Teen Center be open more during the summer? Response: The number of hours the Teen Center can be open during the summer is specified in the contract with CSC Applied Technologies. Increasing the Teen Center hours would result in added contract costs. There is currently no money available to support those costs. Concern: What can be done to encourage older teens to use the Teen Center? Response: Daily self-directed opportunities are offered in at least three of the Air Force core program areas: character and leadership; the arts; health and life skills; sports, fitness and recreation; and education and career development. The teens are included in the planning of field trips and other scheduled activities. The program is heavily marketed to attract eligible teens. Survey comment: Great teen center staff. Response: We appreciate this comment and it has been shared with the staff.
