Rising 4 hosts ‘Pie in the Eye’ at Vance club Published April 25, 2013 VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The Rising 4 enlisted organization at Vance Air Force Base hosted a "Pie in the Eye" event at the April Wing Recognition Ceremony held April 24 at the Vance Collocated Club. For the past two weeks, Team Vance members voted for who they wanted to see get a pie in the face at the ceremony. Forty names made it on the list, with the lead changing throughout the voting period. On April 24, after the official recognitions were over, and the rules were explained, a final lineup of pie recipients was announced. Maj. Robert Prausa, the 71st Security Forces Squadron commander, Chris Daniels, the 71st FTW Protocol officer and 2nd Lt. Tom Barger, the 71st FTW Public Affairs officer, in turn took the hot seat over a sheet of plastic on the Club stage. Senior Airman Michael Brewer, with the 71st SFS, put a pudding and cream pie onto Major Prausa's head. Master Sgt. Erica Daniels, with the 71st Comptroller Squadron, put a pie into the face of her husband, the Protocol officer. Senior Airman Frank Casciotta, the Rising 4 vice president, smeared a cream pie onto Barger's face. A fourth pie was auctioned off, and a member of the 71st Medical Support Squadron, Airman 1st Class Mark Tumbagon, put that pie into the face of his commander, Lt. Col. Evyn Helber.
