Inspection team completes in-depth look at Vance operations Published April 12, 2013 VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- More than 130 inspectors from Headquarters Air Education and Training Command arrived at Vance Air Force Base, April 8, to conduct a Consolidated Unit Inspection. They arrived on a C-17 Globemaster III from the 58th Airlift Squadron at Altus Air Force Base, Okla. The inspection was shortened this year due to the sequestration. The reduced schedule saved nearly a third of the normal CUI per diem costs. The inspectors spent three days examining how Vance conducts operations ranging from protecting Privacy Act information to training student pilots. The results of the inspection are scheduled for release April 17. The inspection team returned to Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, April 12, onboard a C-17.
