Vance air traffic controller takes honors at Airman Leadership School

Senior Airman Kyle Good earned the Academic Achievement and Distinguished Graduate awards while attending Airman Leadership School Class 12-D at Altus Air Force Base, Okla.

Good, an air traffic controller with the 71st Operations Support Squadron here, and three other Vance Airmen were among the 15 who graduated March 16 during a ceremony held at Altus AFB.

Senior Airmen Otis Brown and Adam Lewis, also air traffic controllers with the 71st OSS, and Senior Airman Andrea Downer, an aerospace physiology technician with the 71st Medical Operations Squadron here, graduated with Class 12-D.

Airman Leadership School is the first level of professional military education and is a required course before senior airmen can advance to the NCO ranks.

The top award for ALS, the John L. Levitow Award, was presented to Senior Airman Richard Razon with the 97th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Altus AFB.

The Commandant Award was presented to Senior Airman Jenee Ruffin with the 97th Medical Support Squadron at Altus AFB.

Other Class 12-D graduates assigned to the 97th Air Mobility Wing at Altus AFB were: Senior Airmen Johnny Barber, Kenneth Doster, Romero Dwyer, Sergio Galaviz, Raymond Griffin, Andy Hacker, Madison Harmon, Shawn Kramer, Bertus Nysingh and Blaine Terry.
