The 2011 Vance Air Force Ball planning committee is hosting a car, truck and motorcycle show Aug. 27 at the Oakwood Mall parking lot in Enid, Okla.

Those interested in having their vehicles on display should contact Senior Airman Jordan Brown, the Air Force Ball Car Show coordinator, at 912-596-6500, or at Airforceballcarshow@gmail.com.

"People who showcase their cars will have a chance to win prizes from local restaurants and auto merchants," said Brown.

There will be several classes to compete in, said Brown. "I decided to throw in sound competitions as well to help keep it interesting for people who just want to go," he added.

For spectators, "It will be like a museum of cars," said Brown. Several local car and truck dealerships will be showcasing their 2011 vehicles, he said.

"People from all over Oklahoma have already registered their vehicles for this event," said 2nd Lt. Christian Martinez, co-coordinator of the Air Force Ball.

There will also be a bake sale at the show sponsored by Team Vance spouses groups, said Maj. Christine Tolbert, the director of the Air Force Ball.

"All proceeds will go toward making the Air Force Ball a more affordable experience for our military and civilian counterparts," said Martinez. "It's another way to involve the local community with the Air Force Ball," added Tolbert.

This year's Air Force Ball will be held Sept. 17 at the Oakwood Country Club in Enid. The committee plans on making this a family friendly event, and is currently working on including local area food and entertainment.
