Vance Biggest Losers drop 132 pounds at March weigh in Published March 9, 2011 VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Results from the March 4 weigh in show that participants in this year's Biggest Loser competition are down 132.1 pounds since the February weigh in, said Kellie Jensen, fitness program coordinator at the Vance Health and Wellness Center. The 38 teams in Vance's Biggest Loser have lost a total of 816.9 pounds since the competition began in January. "Our goal is to lose 1,250 pounds before the final weigh in April 8," said Ms. Jensen. The team currently in first place is "Fattastic," having lost 44 pounds, or 4.7 percent of their total body weight, since the February weigh in. Team members are Ron Posey, James Jones, Jeremy Elmore and Joanna Gruntmeir. In second place is "Hugh Jass Crazies," having lost 33 pounds, 4 percent of their total body weight since February. Team members are Jesse Ray, Jon Cabatit, Jessica Knowlton and Rob Bodick. In third place is "The Muffin Tops," losing 21.2 pounds, 3.36 percent of total body weight. Team members are Dave Carn, Heather Carn, Maggie Laws and Katherine Olson. In fourth through sixth place are "In Your Dreams," with 2.9 percent loss; "Mission Slimpossible," with 2.6 percent loss; and "4XLs," with 2.29 percent loss. "It is always exciting to see the numbers people post throughout the competition," Ms. Jensen said. Understanding that not everyone in the competition is a gym or nutrition expert, the HAWC has classes available to help, she said. "We offer several different types of classes that promote a healthy lifestyle," Ms. Jensen said. "Everything from a fitness center introduction class to smoking cessation to how to eat right is offered." The classes offered at the HAWC aren't just for Biggest Loser competitors.
