Warriors of the Week serve as Wingmen for local restaurant patron Published Sept. 29, 2010 VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Team Vance members from the 71st Medical Group and the 71st Operations Support Squadron were named Warriors of the Week for applying their Wingman code to a member of the Enid community at a local restaurant recently. They noticed a man, in the company of his 10- and 16 year-old daughters, becoming very belligerent and intoxicated. While he was away from the table the Vance Airmen approached the daughters and asked if their dad was going to be able to get them home safely. The girls were worried about his ability to drive. The Airmen were able to convince the dad to let them take him and his daughters home using their designated drivers. The Vance Airmen, named Warriors of the Week, were: Staff Sgt. Chris Endres, a medical technician from St. Albans, W.V.; Airman 1st Class Mark Tumbagon, a medical logistics technician from Honolulu, Hawaii; Airman 1st Class Shaun Houlihan, a medical technician from Needville, Texas; Airman 1st Class Ryan Garcia, a medical technician from Greenwich, Conn.; Airman 1st Class Ana Pelais, a medical technician from Los Angeles, Calif.; Airman 1st Class Eric Klender, an air traffic controller from Niagara Falls, N.Y.; and Airman 1st Class Jesse Kow, an air traffic controller in training from Lehigh Acres, Fla. The seven Wingmen kept one man from driving after drinking and prevented harm to his daughters and anyone who might have shared the road that night.
