Sheryl Lawrence honored with Oklahoma Federal Executive Board award Published May 20, 2010 By Ensign Rex Miller 71st Flying Training Wing Public Affairs VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Sheryl Lawrence with the 71st Flying Training Wing Protocol office was recently honored as the 2010 Oklahoma Federal Executive Board Clerical/Administrative Assistant of the Year. The award was given at the Federal Executive Board luncheon, Monday, May 3, in Norman, Okla. Ms. Lawrence was selected from six Department of Defense finalists from across the state. Ms. Lawrence has been a member of Team Vance for two and a half years. Three months ago, she was detailed to the Protocol office from her original position as the command secretary for the 3rd Fighter Training Squadron. She now coordinates itineraries for distinguished visitors along with important ceremonies and functions here at Vance. "We work together as a team, and that allows us to tackle all the challenges that come up," said Ms. Lawrence. Lt. Col. Chris Callaghan, commander of the 3rd FTS, nominated Ms. Lawrence for her work at the squadron. "First of all, it meant so much to me that my supervisor would even nominate me," said Ms. Lawrence. "I feel honored to be ranked among the state's best."
