Duty: 32nd Flying Training Squadron Instructor Pilot

Hometown: Seattle, Wash.

Favorite PT regimen: Weightlifting and sprints

Mission Accomplishment: Lieutenant Huckins, while flying with students new to the T-1A Jayhawk, experienced flap asymmetry during one sortie in the military operating area, and a gear malfunction while flying a second sortie near Oklahoma City. After both flights, he turned the emergency procedures into teaching tools by having the students explain what had happened during a formal briefing to the rest of their class members.

Lieutenant Huckins coordinated a visit to Vance AFB for over 30 children from Pond Creek-Hunter Elementary School, of Pond Creek, Okla. The tour included visits to Aerospace Physiology, the runway supervisory unit, several squadrons and static displays.

As assistant Unit Fitness Program monitor, Lieutenant Huckins ensured the timely completion of 15 physical training tests, and is stepping up to become the squadron Booster Club president.
