71st FTW Staff Judge Advocate receives award Published March 29, 2010 By Ensign Rex Miller 71st Flying Training Wing Public Affairs VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Maj. William Annexstad, 71st Flying Training Wing Staff Judge Advocate was named the 19th Air Force's recipient of the Albert M. Kuhfeld award for Outstanding Judge Advocate of the Year, 2009. The past year has been a busy one for the major. Before becoming a member of Team Vance, he served on the action group for the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, Manpower and Services and as a congressional analyst in the Congressional Affairs for the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence. The item from his nomination for the award that he is most proud of is being a member of the 71st Flying Training Wing writing team. The writing team has reviewed more than 90 award packages for members of Team Vance. "As a wing, we have already received 19 awards at the 19th Air Force level or higher, which is a 90 percent increase from last year," said Major Annexstad. "It is always nice to be recognized," said the major, "but truthfully, I get much more satisfaction seeing others succeed, especially those I work with on a daily basis." Major Annexstad will now compete at the Air Education and Training Command level.
