Vance Little League teams preparing for 5th season Published Feb. 10, 2010 By Capt. Brian McMillin VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 2010 Enid Joint Recreational Triad Little League season is quickly approaching. For the fifth year, children of Vance AFB military and civilian personnel will be able to participate in the city league on three teams organized and coached by Vance volunteers. This is a great opportunity for your children to get involved with baseball and learn the fundamentals. There are three age groups for teams this year: Machine pitch for 8 and under: Children cannot turn 9 years old before May 1. Adam Erlandson and Brian McMillan will be coaching. T-ball for 6 and under: This is for kindergarteners who must be 5-years-old by April 1, but will not turn 7 years old before May 1. Chris Hinojosa will be coaching. T-ball for 4 and under: This is for children who must be 4 years old by Aug. 1, but will not turn 5-years-old before May 1. Brian McMillan will be coaching this team as well. A parents' meeting will take place March 4 at the Vance AFB Youth Center inside the gym. All practices will be held on base and all games will be played downtown at the EJRT baseball complex in Crosslin Park. Practices will be one to two days per week until the season starts. The season begins in April and runs through the end of June. Games are played two days per week and no games will be scheduled after 7:45 p.m. while school is in session. The cost to play for 4-and-under T-ball is $45 plus uniforms, for 6-and-under T-ball is $55 plus uniforms and for 8-and-under machine pitch is $65 plus uniforms.
