Vance artists, craftsmen receive certificates of excellence

Participants in Vance's 2009 Artist Craftsman Gallery Showcase were presented certificates for their creative excellence during a reception held Dec. 8 in the 71st Flying Training Wing headquarters building.

The certificates were presented by Diane McCurdy, the 71st Force Support Squadron director.

Twelve Vance artists submitted 37 various works of photography, painting and woodworking. The showcase is part of an Air Force wide competition, put on by the Air Force Services Agency. All Vance submissions were copied electronically and set to Air Education and Training Command for the first round of competition. The entries can be viewed at www.airforcegallery.com.

Artists and craftsmen entering this year's showcase were Dana Blanchard, Pam Dawson, 2nd Lt. Cliff Moore, Sarah Markowski, Master Sgt. Jay Hoth, Staff Sgt. Andrew McGee, Janet Stambaugh, Marsha Williams, Kim Winfield, Matthew Winfield, Randy Winfield and Eric Tower.

The works of the Vance artists were on display in Enid and on-base for the past month.

Local businesses that supported the showcase are: Moto Photo, Friesen Design, Athey Lumber, Angel Delight Catering, Hoffman Photography, Cliff's Camera, Holden Art Gallery, Muncy Photography and Scribner's gallery.
