Lewis named Wing Airman of the Month for October Published Nov. 3, 2009 VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Senior Airman Joshua Lewis, an administrative services technician with the 71st Medical Support Squadron, is the Wing Airman of the Month for October. From La Grange, N.C., Airman Lewis has been in the Air Force for almost three years and Vance is his first assignment. To become Airman of the Month, Airman Lewis was first nominated by his squadron. He then met a board composed of one senior NCO, an NCO and the previous Airman of the Month selectee, Senior Airman Kanita Pruitt with the 71st Mission Support Group. The board asked Airman Lewis questions on specific military related areas along with current event issues. He was scored on his responses, dress and appearance, communication skills and professionalism. As the Wing Airman of the Month, Airman Lewis will receive a personal visit from the wing commander and the command chief, a one-day pass, a certificate of recognition, AAFES and Services coupons and a one-night stay in a distinguished visitor suite at base lodging.
