Vance Clinic pharmacy hours changing Published Aug. 6, 2008 By 71st Medical Support Squadron VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The pharmacy at Vance AFB will close from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. daily, due to renovations and limited staffing, beginning Aug. 12. "We realize this is an inconvenience for some, but is necessary to lower the potential for a medication error and ensure patient safety," said Lt. Col. Mark Batcho, 71st Medical Support Squadron commander. "Safeguarding our patient's health remains a priority as we process the high volume of prescriptions for our beneficiary population," he said. Pharmacy hours will return to 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. once the clinic renovations are completed in September. Prescription refill times are changing from next-day service to a two-day service due to staffing shortages. "We strive to fill our prescriptions in a timely manner, but must ensure our patients have the safest experience possible," said Colonel Batcho. Pharmacy patrons can use the automated phone system to order prescription refills by calling 213-7292.
