71st MSG welcomes new commander

VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Col. Dwayne LaHaye assumed command of the 71st Mission Support Group from Col. Christopher Daniels during a ceremony June 26 at Hangar 199.

Before assuming command of the MSG, LaHaye was the budget division chief at headquarters Air Combat Command, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.

LaHaye has operational and joint budget experience having served tours at air staff, combatant command, major command and wing level.

He holds a Bachelor of Science from the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a master's in international relations from Troy State University.

LaHaye's military decorations include a Defense Meritorious Service Medal and an Air Force Commendation Medal.

"To command is to serve, and that's what I'm here to do," said LaHaye, addressing his new troops. "I am honored and humbled to join your team. Your outstanding reputation precedes you, and I can't wait to see you in action."
