71st LRS welcomes new commander Published June 22, 2015 By David Poe by 71st Flying Training Wing Public Affairs VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Maj. Shannon Caleb assumed command of the 71st Logistics Readiness Squadron from Maj. John Klohr during a ceremony June 22 at the Vance Collocated Club. Before assuming command of the 71st LRS, Caleb was the operations officer for the 437th Aerial Port Squadron out of Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. Caleb is a Logistics Readiness Officer with a diverse background in fuels management, material support, contingency operations, command and control, aerial port and various leadership roles. After serving almost 14 years as an enlisted Airman, Caleb was commissioned in 2002. The Enid, Oklahoma, native is the recipient of military decorations that include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and the Joint Service Commendation Medal.
