Vance ESG donates to YWCA

VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Members of the Vance Enlisted Spouses Group dropped off donations for the Enid Young Women's Christian Association Sept. 12.

"We partnered with the YWCA because we felt our group could help make a difference," said Staff Sgt. Nichole Curran, the 71st Weather Flight NCO in charge and member of the ESG. "Our organization is mostly made of females so it was easy to partner with them."

The ESG received a list of items the YWCA needed and put up donation boxes around Vance.

The list consisted of clothing, blankets, towels, soaps, feminine products, dental care items, laundry detergent and dish soap.

Donations to the YWCA go to women escaping domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.

"We will also be rearranging their Sister's Closet," said Curran.

The Sister's Closet provides free clothing for women rebuilding their lives.
