Team Vance raised more than $34,000 for the Air Force Assistance Fund this year.

"The AFAF campaign is a collection of organizations Airmen use to support each other with financial aid, and once again, Team Vance exceeded fundraising goals," said Capt. Ashley Swansiger, that Vance AFAF campaign organizer.

This year's goal was exceeded by more than $6,000.

"I really was not surprised by the results of the fundraiser, despite the stress Airmen are facing with sequestration," said Swansiger. "It just goes to show that Airmen want to take care of each other."

The 71st Student Squadron raised the most money, donating approximately $13,000.

Most donations went to the Air Force Aid Society.

"The Air Force Aid Society got the biggest chunk of the donations," said Swansiger. "This is an organization that benefits the most Airmen.

"Airmen can receive school loans or grants to help them while going through tough financial times."

Other organizations the AFAF campaign supports are: the Air Force Village, the Air Force Enlisted Village and the Gen. and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation.
