Vance hits 38 percent of AFAF goal in two weeks

VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. --  Team Vance donors contributed $10,721 to the Air Force Assistance Fund during the first two weeks of the 2014 campaign, which runs through April 11.

"That is 38 percent of our goal of $28,071," said Capt. Ashley Swansiger, this year's campaign leader.

The 71st Mission Support Group was the first unit to meet their individual AFAF goal," said Swansiger. In fact, they bypassed it with 184 percent, collecting $4,385.

Key workers have contacted 98 percent of the active duty, retired, guard and reserve at Vance Air Force Base.

The annual AFAF campaign raises funds for the Air Force Aid Society, the Air Force Villages, the Air Force Enlisted Village and the Gen. and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation.

A "Pie in the Eye" is scheduled during the Wing Recognition Ceremony March 26 to raise funds for the AFAF. The three Vance AFB leaders with the most votes will get a pie in the face.
