Fall Festival features food, fun, pumpkin painting Published Sept. 25, 2013 By 2nd Lt. Alexios Gavrilos 71st Flying Training Wing Public Affairs VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The Fall Festival/Oktoberfest is scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Vance Collocated Club. The festival combines "Free food, family fun and a beer garden," said Ruth Ann Replogle, 71st Force Support Squadron's marketing director. "What more could you want?" she said. Most of the Fall Festival/Oktoberfest activities will be on the west side of the club. There will be inflatable bounce houses, pumpkin painting for the kids and vendor booths from both on and off base services giving out information brochures and goodies. The Liberty Fruit Co. donated more than 200 pumpkins through the Vance Commissary for the kids to paint. MotoPhoto will be taking family photos with an autumn-themed backdrop. The beer garden, featuring a variety of imported German beers, will be located in the enlisted lounge in the club. The club grill will be open for guests wanting to order from the menu in lieu of free food. The free food will include a bratwurst -- or hot dog - soda and a bag of chips. Every Fall Festival participant will be entered into a drawing for prizes from the Gaslight Theatre, Enid Symphony Orchestra, Chisholm Trail Expo Center and the Enid Event Center. In case of bad weather, Fall Festival will be rescheduled for Oct. 15. For more information, call Rachel McVay at 580-213-6406.
