Construction, fun continues Published Dec. 11, 2006 By Col Mike Callan 71st Flying Training Wing Vance Air Force Base, Okla. -- Team Vance -- you continue to impress me with your warrior spirit and "sheer will power" to make things better! Monday marked a fantastic day for Team Vance with the official opening of our new T-1A maintenance hangar. We've wanted one for about eight years and it's finally completed -- and what a facility it is. If you haven't had the opportunity to see it, please stop by and take a look at our "state-of-the-art" hangar. March 22 marks another fantastic Monday for Team Vance -- we begin Phase One of our base housing construction project to built 54 new enlisted homes. I encourage every Team Vance member to come out Monday at 1:30 p.m. to witness the ground-breaking ceremony. While the ceremony will be brief, you'll have a chance to look at several pictorials that detail the construction plan and amenities to be in each house. It's expected the project will take about one year to fully complete so I highly encourage you to come out and see what's in store for our enlisted warriors and their families. Finally, Saturday night at our club is Enlisted Appreciation Night -- you can't miss this great event. Prizes totaling more than $15,000 will be given out, and it's due in large part to the continued support from Enid and the surrounding communities. The Enid Chamber of Commerce's support to Vance Air Force Base's enlisted population is unquestioned, and this event gives the base population a chance to say "thanks" to our enlisted warriors! I look forward to seeing you there -- be safe!!
