Exercises prepare us for inspection Published Nov. 29, 2006 By Col. Bryan Benson 71st Flying Training Wing Vance Air Force Base, Okla. -- Transitioning from satisfactory to excellent! Team Vance, during Wednesday's Major Accident Response Exercise, you demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm and I was very impressed with the wing's overall performance. Keep up your momentum! There are still a number of exercises remaining until we are tested in the Operational Readiness Inspection. The inspection is 87 days away and you should be honing your processes and moving your programs from a high satisfactory to the excellent level. If you haven't already, get in touch with your counterpart at a recently inspected base. Maxwell AFB finished its ORI last month and better yet, Columbus, our sister training base, finishes its ORI today. Your peers at these bases are your best bet to gain the latest and greatest ORI prep tips and information. Presentation is also very important; do not underestimate the impact a sharply pressed uniform, highly-polished boots or a fresh haircut can have on the inspector. Take the extra steps to ensure your personal appearance is a positive example for others in your unit. Thank you for your hard work this week Team Vance. I am glad to see our numbers of alcohol incident-free days is growing. Continue to use your wingman and look after one another.
