Medal presentation

Col. Russ Mack, commander of the 71st Flying Training Wing at Vance Air Force Base, Okla., awards the child of a deployed Vance Airman a Home-Front-Hero medal at the Month of the Military Family celebration held Nov. 18 in the Airman & Family Readiness Center. More than 140 folks attended the celebration, which included contests for pie and ice cream eating and hula-hoop twirling. The Month of the Military Family recognizes what families of military members go through when their loved ones are away from home serving their country.
