Snow in the parking lot
Plows driven by Vance AFB contract partners had cleared much of the snow from the 71st Flying Training Wing headquarters parking lot by Wednesday morning. Between 5 and 6 inches of snow fell at Vance during a winter storm Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. Winds hit a high speed of 49 mph, with average speeds of 20 to 30 mph. The storm brought the total Vance snowfall this winter to between 8 and 9 inches. Weather forecasters do not anticipate daytime temperatures to go above freezing until Friday afternoon.
