Group of pilots
Members of the 5th Flying Training Squadron at Vance AFB, honored Lt. Col. Pete “Edge” Edgar, on his retirement from 26 years of Air Force service, both active and Reserve, and Maj. “Duster” Thompson, who is being reassigned to Sheppard AFB, Texas, with fini flights July 15. Participants in the flights were, left to right, Lt. Col. "Chigger" Fischer, Maj. "Duster" Thompson, Maj. "Skunk" Kerkman, Maj. "Ragin" Johnson, Lt. Col. "Edge" Edgar, Lt. Col. "Pigs" Sanders, Lt. Col. "Woody" Cox, Lt. Col. "Shead" McTee, Maj. "Yarbs" Yarbrough, Maj. "Toast" Stumbo and Lt. Col. "Sleepy" Johnson. Colonel Edgar, who joined the Air Force after graduating from the Air Force Academy in 1984, has flown almost 4,400 hours, including time in the A-10 and the T-38.
