A day in the life of a Vance flight commander

Captain Westby reviews a T-1A maintenance log with aircraft maintenance prior to a student sortie. Before each sortie, the student and instructor pilot prebrief each mission, including weather, maintenance, general knowlege, radio procedures and an aircraft pre-flight inspection. Upon their return, they discuss what happened during the sortie. Captain Westby as flight commander is then responsible for entering and reviewing grade books for his students.(Photo by Capt Tony Wickman)
