Colonel Carl F. Miller III

Colonel Carl F. Miller III is the Deputy Wing Commander of the 71st Flying Training Wing, Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma. He leads a wing consisting of more than 2,700 personnel conducting specialized undergraduate pilot training for more than 300 U.S. Air Force and allied student pilots each year. The wing operates more than 185 aircraft, flies more than 55,000 sorties annually, and logs more than 80,000 flying hours each year.

Colonel Miller received his commission from the University of Florida in 2001 with a degree in Business Administration. He is a command pilot with over 4,000 flying hours in the T-6, AC-208, C-208, and C-17.

Prior to assuming his current position, he served as Chief of Aircrew Training and Management, Training and Readiness Directorate, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C.
