CMSgt James D. “Bo” Warrenburg Jr serves as the 71st Operations Group Senior Enlisted Leader, Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma. In this role, he serves as the principle advisor to the commander on all matters of morale, welfare, readiness, professional development and effective utilization of the enlisted force. He provides mentorship and guidance for 140 enlisted, 800 officers and 125 civilians of Undergraduate Pilot Training. He brings operational leadership and perspective in the management of the second busiest airfield in the Air Force with 206 training aircraft. The group executes over 55,000 sorties and 80,000 flying hours annually, producing over 300 U.S. Air Force and Allied pilots each year..
Chief Warrenburg was raised in Tecumseh, Oklahoma and entered the Air Force in April 2003. He graduated from Maintenance Production Management School at Sheppard AFB, Texas in September 2003. In 2011, he was selected for retraining to become a Bioenvironmental Engineer Technician at the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. He was once again selected to retrain in 2014 to become a career enlisted aviator as a Loadmaster on the C-17A Globemaster. As a Career Enlisted Aviator, he has participated in multiple combat operations around the globe and held numerous positions to include flight instructor, evaluator, and AETC Formal Training Unit Evaluator.
