Warrior of the Week: Staff Sgt. Laura Rosenzweig

Vance Air Force Base, Okla. --  Staff Sgt. Laura Rosenzweig, 71st Flying Training Wing judge advocate NCO in charge of claims, was selected as Warrior of the Week because "she is the epitome of the military image, in uniform, department and action," according to her supervisor, Master Sgt. Christopher Stein.
"Not only does she shatter all metrics with her aggressive management of this section, but she also steps up to and conquers any challenge," said Sergeant Stein.
Breaking metrics seems to be a habit for Sergeant Rosenzweig. She started her Air Force career by breaking the record in the junior category for the dead lift and bench press in the United States of America Power Lifting Military National Power Lifting competition. She also won the Best Chef Team Award while stationed at Minot Air Force Base, N.D.
As her second tour at Ghedi Air Base, Italy, came to a close, Sergeant Rosenzweig felt it was time to change career paths.
"I just wanted to use my brain more than I did with cooking," she said.
Sergeant Rosenzweig chose to cross train into paralegal and continued the trend of being the one to beat. She graduated as a distinguished graduate from her technical school last year.
"She eagerly tackles any new challenge, learns the complicated tasks quickly and produces excellent results," Sergeant Stein said.
Sergeant Rosenzweig was recently selected for promotion to technical sergeant and also completed her Career Development Courses for her five-level upgrade; all great accomplishments for an Airman who started at Vance less than a year ago as a brand new three-level paralegal.
At the end of fiscal 2006, Sergeant Rosenzweig will move to the department of military justice. She's also enrolled with Kaplan University to commence studies for a paralegal degree beginning next month.
"There's just so much to learn in legal," she said. "It's interesting and you are constantly learning new things every day."
Sergeant. Rosenzweig and her husband Tech. Sgt. Todd Rosenzweig, 71st Security Forces Squadron, both intend to make a career in the military. They hope to make it back to Europe after this assignment.
While Sergeant Rosenzweig doesn't admit to having many hobbies, she likes to spend her free time playing with her dogs and working out and mentions that when she and her husband get back to Europe, traveling could be added to her list.
