Operation Cookie Cutter packages holiday spirit for deployed Airmen Published Nov. 11, 2017 71st Flying Training Wing Public Affairs VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Twenty-four deployed Team-Vance Airmen will receive some home-grown holiday spirit in the mail this year thanks to Operation Cookie Cutter 2017. Organized by the Airman & Family Readiness Center, Operation Cookie Cutter brought together 24 volunteers and lots of donated cookies and cookie dough in the Community Chapel Activity Center, Nov. 9. The volunteers baked cookies, wrapped cookies and prepared 24 boxes for mailing to Vance Airmen who will be away from home during the holiday season. “Each box contained five dozen cookies, a bag of candy, and letters from local Girl Scouts and Enid elementary-school children thanking the Airmen for their service,” said 2nd Lt. Samuel Schmidt. Schmidt is currently working at the A&FRC until his pilot training begins. Kids from the Vance Youth Center also baked cookies for the Operation Cookie Cutter boxes, said Schmidt.
