VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Maj. Kirk Andrews assumed command of the newly formed 71st Contracting Flight during a ceremony held Jan. 22 in the base auditorium.

The flight is responsible for managing Vance’s base operations support and flight operations support contracts worth more than $95 million annually.

The ceremony was officiated by Col. Yancey Cowen, the 71st Mission Support Group commander.

Andrews is a career contracting officer, coming to Vance from the Contracting Directorate, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

His spouse, Ashley, pinned on his commander’s insignia during the ceremony that was also attended by their three children.
