Prescribed burn at Vance airfield

VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – There will be a scheduled prescribed burn on sections of Vance’s airfield March 16, 2019. The burn is scheduled to start at approximately 8:30 a.m. Saturday and is expected to conclude around 8:30 p.m.

Prescribed burns are conducted to reduce the likelihood of aircraft bird strikes, and are considered integral to flight safety.
