Ruffin takes command of the Ghostriders

VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. – Lt. Col. Kenyatta H. Ruffin assumed command of the 71st Operations Support Squadron during a ceremony held May 14 in the Greven Crosswinds Club.

Lt. Col. James J. Muniz relinquished command of the unit. The ceremony was officiated by Col. Robert Haas, the 71st Operations Group commander.

The 71st OSS is responsible for the airspace, airfield maintenance, air traffic control and weather operations of the 71st Flying Training Wing.

Ruffin has over 2,000 flying hours in the F-16C, MC-12, T-6 and T-38, to include over 700 combat hours.

He comes to Vance from Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, where he served as the Commander, Detachment 1, Headquarters Air Force Recruiting Service.
