Assistant chief controller wins AFA award Published July 9, 2013 By Senior Airman Frank Casciotta 71st Flying Training Wing Public Affairs VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The assistant chief controller with the radar approach control center at Vance Air Force Base won the Air Force Association Oklahoma State Senior NCO of the year award. Master Sgt. Jason Trickey, 71st Operations Support Squadron, was selected based on his community involvement, job performance, self improvement initiative and mission impact. Each year, AFA board members select one person for each of the nine awards from the four bases in Oklahoma. Those selected are recognized for their efforts throughout the year. The nine categories are: Airman, NCO, senior NCO, company grade officer, junior ROTC, civilian category I, civilian category II, contactor salary and contractor hourly. The awards will be presented at the AFA regional convention Aug. 3 in Wichita Falls, Texas. The Air Force Association is a non-profit, independent, professional military and aerospace education association that supports the Air Force and aerospace education through efforts of AFA members, donors, organizations and corporations.
