Vance exceeds goals for 2013 AFAF campaign Published April 3, 2013 By Senior Airman Frank Casciotta 71st Flying Training Wing Public Affairs VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Team Vance exceeded the base and Air Force level fundraising goals for the 2013 Air Force Assistance Fund campaign, held Feb. 4 through March 15. More than 340 active duty military, government civilian and reserve Airmen donated $34,958 to AFAF to support the four organizations that assist Airmen, veterans and their families. Vance surpassed the base goal by nearly $5,000 and the Air Force goal by more than $7,000. Team Vance had the highest participation rate among the bases that conducted the AFAF campaign within the same time frame. "It's inspiring to be part of an Air Force that gives back to its Airmen," said 1st Lt. Chris Marti, an instructor pilot with the 33rd Flying Training Squadron and the main point of contact for the AFAF campaign. The organizations supported by the AFAF are the Air Force Village, Air Force Aid Society, the Air Force Enlisted Village and the Gen. and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation.
