African-American menu featured during monthly SIGMO Published March 6, 2013 By Airman 1st Class Frank Casciotta 71st Flying Training Wing Public Affairs VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Volunteers from the 8th Flying Training Squadron hosted the monthly Singles' International Gourmet Meal Opportunity in the base Community Chapel Activity Center, March. 4. The 15 volunteers served 186 dinners to single Airmen and the families of deployed Airmen. The menu featured items in honor of African-American Heritage, celebrated in February. Chicken-fried steak, jambalaya, green beans, baked beans, corn bread, salad and various homemade desserts were served.
