Vance Spouse Spotlight: Nikki Prevendar Published Feb. 27, 2013 By Sarina Houston 3rd Flying Training Squadron key spouse VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, -- Name: Nikki Prevendar Base affiliation: My husband, Capt. Alex Prevendar, is a first assignment instructor pilot in the 25th Flying Training Squadron. He just got assigned to fly F-16s. Do you have kids? Makynzie and Cullen. Do you work? I own a photography business called NP Photography. Do you have any hobbies? I love all things creative. Quilting, art projects with the kids, crafting, photography, writing poetry, cooking and running...this list goes on for days! Do you volunteer? I am currently the vice president of welfare for the Officers' Spouses' Club at Vance and I organize meals for families in our squadron. What's your favorite thing about Enid? I love the people. We have been stationed at Vance since 2008 and we feel so extremely blessed to have been welcomed into the community with open arms. The friends we have made here truly are our family, as cliché as that sounds. I know that no matter the next base, Enid and Vance have made such an impact on my life and my family. It will always be close to my heart. What do find most challenging about the military lifestyle? If you asked me this question four years ago I would have said being away from my family, but today I would say the most challenging thing is explaining goodbye to my young kids. Goodbye never means forever. The concept of knowing someone is still close in our hearts even though we can't see them is tough for my littles. Sarina is the Key Spouse for the 3rd Flying Training Squadron and is married to Capt. Jacob Houston in the 3rd FTS at Vance AFB.
