Senior Airman Kristabel Hibbard received the John Levitow award during the Airman Leadership School graduation Feb. 8 at Altus Air Force Base, Okla.

Hibbard, an emergency action controller in the 71st Flying Training Wing command post, was one of 16 AirmenĀ in Class 13-B.

Two more Team Vance members graduated with ALS Class 13-B: Senior Airman Jerad Robinson, an air traffic controller with the 71st Operations Support Squadron; and Senior Airman Rosa Garrette, a formal training journeyman with the 71st Force Support Squadron.

The Levitow Award is named for John L. Levitow, the lowest ranking Airman to receive the Medal of Honor for exceptional heroism during wartime. It is awarded for an enlisted professional military education student's exemplary demonstration of excellence, both as a leader and scholar.

Master Sgt. Chris Nihiser, the command post superintendent at Vance AFB, was not surprised that Hibbard captured the top award in the class. "She always goes above and beyond to get the job done."

Hibbard has spent all five years of her Air Force career here and has a line number for staff sergeant.
