The Warrior of the Week for the 71st Flying Training Wing is Tech. Sgt. Jeremy Sykora, NCO in charge of Communications Focal Point with the 71st Communications Squadron.

Sykora led his squadron in support of President Barak Obama's "Feds Feed Families" campaign which resulted in 1,122 pounds of food donated by the 71st CS.

"We have a ton of outstanding communication warriors, but Tech. Sgt. Sykora really stepped up for this campaign," said Senior Master Sgt. Robert Woodin, the superintendent of the 71st CS.

The annual "Feds Feed Families" campaign is sponsored by the Department of Defense to combat food shortages in local food banks and shelters.

Sykora led a team of 48 Airmen and coordinated with five local community agencies to place food donation drop boxes around town and volunteered more than 50 hours to the cause, making him a keystone player in the project.

"I really didn't expect to be recognized, but it was cool," said Sykora, from Stroud, Okla. "That whole event was a big team effort," said Sykora. "The entire 71st CS was involved and is full of people who are always eager to help out."

In his day-to-day job, Sykora is in charge of managing and coordinating all computer related trouble tickets for the base's 2,700 customers.

"We get about 2,100 tickets every year, so we keep pretty busy," said Sykora.

"Sykora is one of the finest NCOs that I know," said Woodin. "When he is supposed to do something, he already has it done. He's well-rounded, knows what he's doing and takes care of his people."

Sykora has spent the past 10 years serving the Air Force and plans to spend at least 10 more.

"I love the people in my career field," said Sykora. "That's the main reason I'll stay in."
