Base pool open for the season; a variety of passes available Published June 13, 2012 VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The Plains Pool at Vance AFB opened for the 2012 season over the Memorial Day weekend. The pool offers alternating hours for open swimming for those wanting to relax and have fun and lap swimming for aquatic athletes. Active duty personnel can use the pool for free during lap swimming hours. Pool passes can be purchased at the Fitness Center. For a single adult a pass costs $25. A family pass is $45. Daily passes are $1.50. Swimmers interested in having a few passes but not a seasonal pass can purchase a punch card. Punch cards for five days are $7, 10 days are $14 and 15 days are $21. Swim classes are also available at the pool for $40. Classes range from level 1, learning to kick and float, to level 6, learning different types of swimming techniques.
