Since black boots and black T-shirts are no longer approved uniform items, 1st Lt. Michelle Bosch, an instructor pilot from the 32nd Flying Training Squadron at Vance Air Force Base, is collecting them to donate to the nonprofit organization, Soles 4 Souls.

The organization collects shoes from footwear warehouses throughout the United States as well as individual's closets. Soles 4 Souls then distributes the footwear to poverty and disaster stricken families around the world.

Soles 4 Souls has a second division, Clothes 4 Souls that provides the same relief and support by delivering items of clothing to disadvantaged individuals.

Boots and T-shirts can be dropped off at donation boxes in the entrance of each flying squadron and the 71st Operations Support Squadron.

For those without black shirts and boots, any donation of shoes or clothing will be greatly appreciated.

Soles 4 Souls accepts all types of shoes from flips flops to high heels. Donations of shoes and clothing can be for any age group. Donated items need to be non-offensive, clean, and gently worn.

The collection drive for shoes and clothing will run throughout November. At the end of the month Bosch will take the donations to the Souls 4 Soles warehouses in Dallas, Texas.
