Adventure Race 2011 set for Sept. 10, register now

VANCE AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 5th annual Vance Air Force Base Adventure Race is set to take place Sept. 10. Teams should register as soon as possible to take part in this great challenge.

The race includes a 4.2-mile run, 2-mile row and 12-mile bike ride. Registration fee is $10 per team member and a T-shirt. Early registration is available at the Fitness Center and should be done as soon as possible.

Teams will compete in either the Xtreme Team Division or the Relay Team Division. Xtreme teams have four members and all must complete the entire race. The Relay Team has three to six members, with two members competing in each leg of the race.

The day of the race, check-in and registration will take place at 8 a.m. in the Base Park. A safety briefing follows at 9 a.m. Then the race begins.

All Team Vance members are eligible to take participate. Youth between 14 and 17 years of age can participate with a parental wavier.
