With spring winding down and summer right around the corner, a community clean up at The Landings is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 11.

The Landings is the privatized base housing at Vance.

The staff asks that participants arrive at The Landings office, located at 4405 Lehr Street, by 8 a.m.

This community cleanup effort, in conjunction with The Landings, their staff and TruGreen, a local lawn maintenance company, is to help base families clean up tree and shrub trimmings and provide flower bed assistance to vacant and occupied homes.

Recent storms have left plenty of branches and trash that needs to be cleaned up. Debris can be placed on the curb for pick up.

The staff of The Landings will be out providing ice-cold water for workers in the community. Workers are reminded that as temperatures heat up, drink lots of fluids, put on sunscreen and wear light cool clothing. Clean up participants should bring their own gloves and tools.
