Adventure Race a Success Published Sept. 30, 2010 By 2nd Lt. Tyler Gross 71st Flying Training Wing Public Affairs Vance Air Force Base, Okla -- Vance Airmen give their all to win the annual Vance Adventure Race. The race, which took place Saturday, Sep. 25, pitted contestants against each other in a three stage race for time that included a run, a bike ride and an inflatable-raft paddle. The competitors were broken up into two categories. Eleven teams competed in the relay race, while four teams competed in the Extreme category where the entire team participated in every event. The A-Team won the relay category completing the race in 132 minutes and 29 seconds. The team members were Preston Moon, Sean Sullivan, Katrina Moon and Justin Raabe. The Daedalus team won the Extreme category finishing the race in 144 minutes and 9 seconds. The team members were Keri Holcomb, Andrew Morris, Charles Keeling and Joey Brewer.
