For the first time Vance AFB will be hosting two motorcycle safety courses on Sept 25th. A basic safety course for new riders and a new advanced safety course for more experienced riders will be offered.

The basic course lasts two full days, while the advanced course is Saturday only. Both courses last from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM both days and are completely free of charge.

The advanced course allows participants to use their own equipment. The course also provides instruction geared towards riders with a higher skill level.

For the beginner's course the motorcycle and helmet will be provided.
Both courses will be taught by instructors from Tinker Air Force Base and students will receive instruction based on their skill level.

"These programs helps riders keep up with ever changing Air Force Instructions and local riding laws. The instructors know a lot about riding both on and off base." says
Craig Wetherington the ground safety manager.

Mr. Wetherington urges participants to sign up quickly as slots are extremely limited. The signup sheet is located in the base safety office in building 455.

Both courses require participants to wear full fingered gloves, a long sleeve shirt, long pants and over the- ankle footwear.
